Write it down

As soon as possible after the incident, write down in as much detail as you can about:

  • What happened
  • What you saw, heard or felt 
  • Who did what
  • What each person said
  • Anything else that happened, and
  • The exact order of events.

You must not show your notes to your witnesses or speak to them about the incident.
