Legal Aid WA has a wide range of employment opportunities for law students who are keen to balance relevant work experiences while studying, and for law students on the cusp of graduation.

Applications for Legal Aid WA’s Semester 2 Voluntary PLT program are now open for law graduates enrolled in a practical legal training course. Click here to view the opportunity. Applications close 11 May 2026.

A new opportunity has also opened for Law Students in their final year of study: Law Graduate Program 2027.
This special 24-week placement has been created for a Law Graduate to join our Criminal Law Division, commencing early January 2027 and running until 30 June 2027. To be eligible, candidates must anticipate having completed a law degree by 1 January 2027 and being admitted or eligible for admission to practice by 30 June 2027. This includes completion of PLT. Click here to view the opportunity. This process will be used to fill any additional graduate positions that arise in the Criminal and Family Law Divisions in 2027. Applications close 2 June 2026.
