Paralegal and Administration Officer Opportunities

Legal Aid WA’s Family Law Division is seeking motivated individuals to join our team in Paralegal and Administration Officer roles, based in Perth CBD. These roles provide vital support to our legal practice in the areas of family and domestic violence, child protection, and family law.

This is a great opportunity to develop new skills and grow in a supportive team environment. We seek professionals with exceptional administrative skills who are passionate about helping people and eager to learn. We provide on-the-job training. Our team operates from the Perth office and court service locations in the metro area. You will be part of a dynamic and dedicated team providing vital support to clients.

About the Roles

As an Administration Officer/Paralegal, you will have substantial contact with clients, providing legal information and referrals, responding to emails, answering phones and providing administrative support to lawyers, including some paralegal tasks. Your responsibilities will include booking appointments, managing schedules, completing legal aid forms, data entry, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. You will also assist with client intake and triage, providing vital administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the Family Law Division.

The Paralegal role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including intake and triage of clients at the duty lawyer services, drafting urgent court documents and legal correspondence, assisting lawyers with trial preparation and legal research. Under supervision, you may provide legal advice, inspect subpoenas, and organise legal documentation. Both of the roles offer significant client interaction and the chance to work closely with lawyers across various aspects of legal practice.
