Your Family & the Law

Your Family & the Law flyerYour Family & the Law is a program of free community legal education sessions, presented by a lawyer from Legal Aid WA. It has been developed by Legal Aid WA as a program that delivers a common-sense approach to explaining the law in the areas of family violence, family law and child protection.

It is adaptable and can be delivered in a variety of ways and to varying audience types, including social workers, advocates and case workers, students of Adult Migrant English Programs, and interested members of the general community.

The sessions can cover topics such as:

  • Legal Aid WA and our services
  • Family violence and the law
  • Family law and separation
  • Family law and property settlements
  • Family law and arrangements for children
  • Child protection

If you are impacted by the regional court closures between 1 June and 28 August and you don’t think you can attend court in person, it’s important to let the court know.

Your lawyer or Legal Aid WA can help you do this.
