A power of attorney is a legal document, which gives a person the power to act for another person in some circumstances. It is often used for a specific purpose and a fixed period of time.

An enduring power of attorney is a special way for a power of attorney to only start or continue to remain valid after the donor loses legal capacity to make their own decisions.

The pages in this section have more information to help you understand when and how to create a power of attorney or enduring power of attorney.
