What prisons does Legal Aid WA visit?

Legal Aid WA provides a regular prison visiting service to the following prison facilities:

  • Acacia Prison
  • Bandyup Women's Prison
  • Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women
  • Casuarina Prison
  • Hakea Prison
  • Wooroloo Prison Farm, and
  • Wandoo Reintegration Facility.

How often does Legal Aid WA visit the prisons?

Legal Aid WA visits Acacia Prison, Bandyup Women's Prison, Casuarina Prison, Hakea Prison and Wooroloo Prison Farm on a weekly basis.

Generally, Legal Aid WA also visits the Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women and the Wandoo Reintegration Facility on a fortnightly basis, depending on need.

In addition to in person visits, telephone appointments occur with Hakea Prison on a weekly basis. 

How can I arrange for a prison visit by Legal Aid WA?

If a person in custody would like to be visited by Legal Aid WA they should call the Legal Aid WA InfoLine on 1300 650 579 and request a visit.

My friend or family member is in a different prison, can they still be visited by Legal Aid WA?

Prisoners at other prisons can be visited or contacted upon request. To organise an appointment the friend or family member should contact the Legal Aid WA InfoLine on 1300 650 579.
