Legal Information, Advice and Referrals

  For the cost of a local call from anywhere in the State our Information Officers are available to provide legal information and referrals. (Please note, calls made from mobile phones will incur a higher rate). Our Officers may be able to assist with appropriate referrals within Legal Aid or to other organisations.
  
  Our telephone lines are open 8.30 am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.



• Legal Advice Bureau (LAB)
  Solicitors and advisers are available to provide advice on some legal issues. Appointments can be made at your closest Legal Aid Office through the Information Line on 1300 650 579. The appointment can be either in person or by telephone. There may be a small fee for this service.



• Minor Assistance Program (MAP)
  Solicitors and advisers are available to assist people to handle their own legal matters including document preparation and letter writing. Appointments are made through the Information Line on 1300 650 579 and can be either in person or by telephone. There may be a small fee for this service.
