Bursting the Bubble - a web site helping young people work out what's okay in a family and what's not. It tells you what you can do if someone in your family is hurting or abusing you or another member of your family. Kids Help Line - is Australia's only free, confidential and anonymous, telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between 5 and 25. The 24 hour counselling phone number is 1800 551 800. Lawstuff - an excellent site of the National Children's and Youth Law Centre - select Western Australia for the right legal information. Rural Young People and the Law - a forum providing young people living in rural Australia and those providing professional support to young people, with an opportunity to share experiences and issues and ask questions about the law. Lawyers are online to respond to comments and queries. Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia - is the peak, non government youth organisation for Western Australia. It represents the WA non government youth sector. It acts as a lobbying group for the non-government youth sector, provides information and support to the non-government youth sector, believes in and actively promotes equity, equality, access and participation for young people in the Western Australian community. Youth Focus - an agency providing early intervention and prevention service (does not provide a crisis service). Youth Legal Service - a community legal centre providing services to young people. Youthline (Samaritans) - 24 hour crisis, counselling line phone 9388 2500 (metropolitan area) or 1800 198 313 (country area). An online Directory of Youth Services is available on the website.
Government DepartmentsAdvocate for Children in Care was set up to help protect and promote the interests of children and young people in care of the Department for Child Protection. Phone the Advocate (during office hours) on 9222 2518 or Freecall 1800 460 696 or Out of hours (leave a message or text) on 0429 086 508. Office of Children and Youth (Department for Communities) - Western Australian government agency providing information for the children and young people of Western Australia, as well as parents and carers, and the general public. Centrelink - Australian government agency offering information to young people on benefits like Youth Allowance. The Source - Australian government website is a gateway to youth information, programmes, services, resources and entertainment for young people between the ages of 12 and 25.
